Privacy

Privacy at TrustAnnie.

A plain-language version of our privacy practices. We try to take privacy seriously, because our visitors are dealing with hard things and deserve to know exactly what happens to anything they share.

The short version

  • We collect as little as possible
  • We never sell or share your data with advertisers
  • We never trade or transfer it to third parties for marketing
  • You can ask us to delete anything we have about you, anytime, by emailing hello@trustannie.com

What we collect

Your email and situation details, only if you tell us. We ask for these when you choose to unlock the in-depth guides. We use them to:

  • Send you the occasional update when we publish new resources
  • Understand what kinds of caregivers are using the site, so we can write content that actually helps

Anonymous usage data. We track which pages get viewed and how long, so we know what content is helping. This doesn’t include personally identifying information.

Questions you submit anonymously through the "What you’re afraid to ask" page. We receive the question text but no identifying information. We may answer it publicly in a way that helps other caregivers in similar situations.

What we don’t collect or do

  • We don’t track you across other websites
  • We don’t use cookies for advertising or retargeting
  • We don’t sell, lease, rent, or share your email or any other personal data
  • We don’t run ads on this site, so there are no ad networks accessing your information

Local storage on your device

The site uses your browser’s localStorage to remember a few things that make the experience better:

  • Whether you’ve unlocked the deeper guides
  • What state you live in, if you’ve told us, so we can show state-specific benefits info
  • Whether you’ve dismissed the popup affirmations or the questionnaire
  • Which interactive guide steps you’ve marked done

This stays on your device. We don’t read it from our servers.

Third-party services that may see you

A few parts of the site load content from outside services. When they do, those services may know you visited:

  • Spotify embedded players on the Breathe page
  • External links to other websites (Psychology Today, government benefits sites, partner organizations)
  • Google Fonts for typography

We don’t share data with these services beyond the standard browser request when their content loads.

Children’s privacy

TrustAnnie.com is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, please email hello@trustannie.com and we’ll delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access what we have about you
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Ask us to correct it
  • Unsubscribe from any emails (every email also has an unsubscribe link)

For any of these, just email hello@trustannie.com. No forms, no friction.

Changes to this policy

If we make substantive changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the bottom and note it in our next newsletter or on the site itself.
